Kopitiams are popular in Malaysia. The name comes from the Malay word "kopi" (coffee) and the Hokkien dialect "tiam" (shop). A kopitiam is a traditional food and coffee shop where one will find coffee and tea available, but the main attraction will be the good taste of home cooked Malaysian and Chinese food.

The first kopitiam in Spain is in Soller, Mallorca, it offers variety of hot and cold drinks with snacks. There is also a daily selection of dishes, predominantly home favourites from Malaysia, as well as occasional delicacies from Thailand and other South-East Asian countries.

The aim is to provide good food at a very reasonable price. There is also a selection of cakes available either to eat in or to take away. Novelty cakes for special events and memorable occasions may be ordered.

Kopitiam also caters for private parties with tailor made menus upon request. We do have dishes that are suitable for vegetarians, as well as several that are gluten-free.
